Avenue "M"    (Population 3)

This is where our son Matthew and his wife Laura reside.  Also in their household is one of our three grandsons - Joshua, who is now 13.  Their actual home is in Yuma, Arizona.  Laura is in the Marine Corps and transferred there in January 2007 after a six year tour in Okinawa.  Matthew served in the Marine Corps for 6 years and got out in 1997, but Laura is apparently a "lifer".  She was recently selected for promotion to Master Sergeant (E-8), probably in February or March 2009.  She is anticipating orders this spring (due to her promotion) for transfer to (possibly) Quantico, Virginia.  In August she returned safely from a 7 month tour of duty in Iraq - for which we are all extremely grateful.  Matthew is running the household and is still doing a little photography on the side.  As a matter of fact he did the photography for our granddaughter Cara's wedding in July 2007.  He also took a number of pictures in Colorado where we met them in January for a Christmas season visit.  He has done some really good work and has some of it posted on the internet. Hopefully he will soon post some Colorado pictures.  To take a look at some of his photos go to:

and enjoy!  Joshua is going into eighth grade (Junior High) and has adjusted well to all the changes.  They brought "Bingo Napoleon" (??), their Okinawan Heinz 57 variety dog, back to the states with them and he appears to be adjusting to American life OK!  Matthew, Joshua and "Bingo" came for a visit in the summer, so we got to spend some time with them then.  They returned to Yuma in mid-July to be there for Laura's return from Iraq.  We did not see Laura until our visit with them in Colorado in January. Meanwhile, we hope for some pictures occasionally and hope we will be able to get some of them posted at the  Photo Shop  on 2nd. Street here in Miller's Corner.  Meanwhile you can send them an e-mail if you would like at:
